Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in the UK, dating back to 1621. The Garden was first established as a physic garden and medicinal plants are still grown there to this day. Our room sprays have been created in collaboration with the experts at the Oxford Botanic Garden and aim to capture the essence and diversity of their unique plant collection. The original illustration of Gardenia jasminoides from the Oxford Botanic Garden Museum has inspired this fragrance which contains a blend of 11 essential oils including amber, black pepper and gardenia. Also known as Cape Jasmine, the gardenia is a relative of the coffee plant. With glossy foliage and fragrant white flowers in summer, it is widely planted in gardens in warmer climates, and as a houseplant in temperate regions. Its cultivation dates back at least a thousand years, to the Song Dynasty in China, where both wild and double-flowered forms have been depicted in ancient paintings. The plant was introduced to English gardens in the mid-18th century. Hand poured in London using a bespoke blend of carefully selected fragrance oils. Designed to deliver an instant intense mist of fragrance with every use.Oxford University Botanic Garden Fragranced Room Spray 100ml – Gardenia
